LEXINGTON --  At its annual fundraising gala on March 23, 2019, Lauren’s Ladder announced a $20,000 donation to the Kiwanis Club of Lexington to enhance the recreational facilities at Kamp Kiwanis.

“The missions of Lauren’s Ladder and Kamp Kiwanis are nearly identical- to provide children in Davidson County with opportunities to grow physically, mentally and spiritually,” said Geelea Seaford, president of Lauren’s Ladder.  “Our goal is to not only enhance the facilities at the camp, but to be a partner in helping the camp grow and continue to thrive.”

Started in 1928, Kamp Kiwanis has served thousands of children in Davidson County and given them opportunity to grow physically, mentally and spiritually.  Today, Kamp Kiwanis provides summer camp opportunities to nearly 200 local children each year.

“The Kiwanis Club is honored and grateful to receive this tremendous donation from Lauren’s Ladder,” said Daniel Shive, president, Kiwanis Club of Lexington.  “This donation will support our mission of empowering communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children of Davidson County.”

More than 350 community leaders and supporters attended the fourth annual Lauren’s Ladder Gala at Richard Childress Racing, which was emceed by Eric Chilton of WFMY-TV and raised almost $12,000.   All proceeds are reinvested in the community to support organizations and causes in Davidson County in memory of Lauren Cecil.
